Coronavirus: Iran's deputy health minister tests positive as outbreak worsens

"Unlike in Italy, Iranian officials are refusing to impose quarantines in areas affected by the outbreak. They say quarantines are old-fashioned and that they do not believe in them. The Shia shrines in the cities of Qom and Mashhad are still open, despite Qom being a hotbed of the virus. There are grand ayatollahs in Qom who believe that its shrine, which attracts millions of pilgrims from around the world, and its important seminary, which hosts many foreign religious students, are the pride of the Shia world. Shutting them down would be a huge step for the clerics and not one that they would be likely take unless they come under international pressure. We can see the clear conflict between religious fundamentalism and science."

Here is something I don't get, how could these countries that wouldn't seem to have much contact with china nor Chinese have this so called flu epidemic...you could understand border countries, the islands and Japan, even the US but it's barely a trickle here.
Iran?...their people have access to china? Chinese people go to iran?
    Seems pretty far fetched.

Something doesn't smell right to me. Granted, the deep state wants everyone to die, they want everything to collapse and the whole thing reeks of being planned or on purpose...remember folks, most of our news on this subject comes from government agencies and the lamestream news.

Should have bought stock in the companies that make medical face masks...

China and Iran are both adversaries of the US. The enemy of my enemy, etc, and there may be some connections that aren't obvious.
Not even a peep from N Korea about the virus so far.

If this thing is really that bad, everyone should stay in their home country and "sext" with each other on their dumb phones...simple stupid?

If everybody stayed home then there would be no trade and shortages would be evident in a week or two. How largea portion of products purchased in the US made in China? How long (in time) is the supply chain?
I don't know about NK, but they aren't self sufficient and all borders are porous. The point is that there could be a million infected in NK and would anyone know it? Would they stay in NK or would some of them be able to leave and carry the virus with them? Could NK use that as a weapon against SK and others?

Yes I was thinking the same.
On the other hand this could be spread by one carrier with just the right conditions of humidity, personal hygiene, proximity or contact with many other people.
(I think it was Pres Truman who said after an economics briefing-
      'send me a one-handed economist')
Travel is so much more widespread now compared to 50 years ago. Cheaper fares from cheap energy gives low wealth people air fares below the cost of steerage in ocean liners of a few generations ago. Look at the size and activity at airports.

Yeah. I'm noticing some things about this bug that I don't like. For starters, I've been seeing strange contradictions in how to deal with it from those who should know about it. If I am right in assuming they do know about it, this is going to get much worse. Sorry for being so cryptic.

I have had some suspicions, too, but without any facts.

Based on what I've been seeing I decided yesterday that this one requires a higher level of diligence than any other similar illness in my lifetime. Worse than SARS. Likely an engineered bug. Published official precautions indicate this spreads much, much easier than any bug in my lifetime.

I fear the infectious period may be longer than has been assumed. Just speculation without facts.
If a communist government wanted to wipe out the generation slowing their economy, and to change the voting mix of their biggest competitor to be more likely to favor socialism, they would release a virus that mostly affects the elderly. It would also have the short term effect of crushing the competitor's economy while a conservative administration was blamed by the biased media. Trade negotiations would be positively affected by the communist government's control over pharmaceutical materials that are used to treat the virus.

See my latest post on this subject.

According to health officials 70% of the world population will be infected.

The virus is not containable, a clear sign of it being a manufactured one.

San Francisco just declared an emergency. With her large Chinese population it was expected.

I question why we didn't have mandatory quarantine in 1957 when 70K in the U. S. died and 2 million globally? Nobody wore face masks either. I hope this Corona scare is causing panic for a good reason and not some bad one.

Religious fanatics don't believe in modern medicine. Plenty of examples in the US, where bigoted parents refuse to seek medical help for their children, using their "faith" as a substitute, usually resulting in the children's death.

Muslims should stick to their "faith". Maybe they will die out in the end.
