This is surreal. They are even closing the golf courses...the one activity we were bragging had zero risk. This doesn't feel right...

"The Russians may have but not "All of Eastern Europe"." If I stand corrected here, well and good. I've always been under the impression vodka especially was consumed in large quantities behind the iron curtain. My Polish and Lithuanian friends even joked about it. They maintained a sense of humor in dire circumstances.

Personally, I'm not hostile, but I get a bit cynical when government starts clamping down. Just give me the information I need and I'll do the right thing, including self quarantine, which my wife and I have already done - there are a number of positive cases in my town already. Additionally, like my Polish friends, I hope I can maintain a sense of humor when things get bad right up to the time I'm put in a box.

I say good luck and God bless to everyone in this time.

"The Russian people and then all Eastern Europe turned to vodka and other forms of consumable alcoholic beverages for solace"

The Russians may have but not "All of Eastern Europe".

I am puzzled by the hostility to efforts to try to curb the spread of the virus.

Has people any idea what it means that cases double day after day?

CA has a left state government and its' leaders" have done a lot against its citizens. But in this case the attitude to ridicule and criticize any measures in a national emergency that the entire county is trying to beat is irresponsible to say the least.

What would you rather do? Let all activities go unrestricted and see where that takes us? Reducing contact between people is a first line of defense in any contagious outbreak.

I never thought we'd be getting such "orders" unless the problem got so bad that many of us had seen some dead people. It's strange.

Illnesses in China behave differently here. I've studied this stuff for years. This is a bad bug. But, the escalation in restrictions isn't based on anything concrete here... We'll see....

I totally agree with you. I've been saying it for two weeks. This doesn't feel right!

"If it weren't for my beer stash..." History repeats. The Russian people and then all Eastern Europe turned to vodka and other forms of consumable alcoholic beverages for solace.

It dawned on me that this is a tipping point - a real transition in our way of life in Amerika. From here on I'm guessing we'll be in a new paradigm...one with less freedom. We'll be seeing permanent change here. So be it. The masses, as I explained to my son just this morning, are clamoring not for leaders - but for mommies and daddies. That's what they're probably going to get, along with some spankings. I can't help but chuckle...

I won't be surprised if other states do the same, Abaco. KA leads in the suppression of individual rights so far. I'm guessing NY, MA, IL and HI are going to challenge.

I got pretty angry about this. If it weren't for my beer stash I would have flipped my lid yesterday. Of course...anger is the natural, proper reaction.

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."

    Ayn Rand

Now we will see if any revolutionary spirit exists in California. If twenty million California citizens leave their homes today, freedom has a chance in America. If the submissive obedience is overwhelming, then Individual Rights will have been relegated to the dustbin of history.

It's KA. Hasn't felt right in decades.
I admit, this is even less right than before, but not unexpected.
