A warning to all the other "news" agencies who blatantly disregard the truth. Now we'll see how much they get out of the others.

I am a little disappointed it didn't go to trial, but for that amount of money you can tell CNN was very worried about the downstream ramifications. Now we'll see if anyone also gets fired. Probably not but we can always hope.

I had hopes they could bankrupt all 3 of the defendants. Won't happen in out of court settlements. Don't blame the plaintiff for taking an offer though.

$275 million is a lot of money - and its only the beginning. Most of the other outlets will take CNN's lead and settle rather than chance a disastrous court decision. All told the damages awarded may top $1 billion.

Guess he won't need a student loan for college.
Actually, if his lawyer was decent (and as driven by 30% fees as most lawyers), he won't need college at all.

McMurtry told Fox, "CNN's tagline is 'Facts First,' and what we believe their reporting was in this circumstance was lies first, coverup second, and facts not yet determined."

Facts first? Yes, facts by CNN's are spinning and distorting.

I have doubts that WaPo or the others see this as a warning.

Their business model is fake news.

They'd have to revamp that completely, losing big money in the process.
