Yes, I need to look into it. I reccomend CCLean, you can get it free, or pay 24.95 for the full version, but I run it when I shut down, and it cleans out all the temp crap, and you can set it to clear cookies (which I don't because all your persistent logins are cookie based, so you have to go though the "we don't recognize your device" on any banks and such). CCLean will do a lot for your system though, it addresses several weakspots in Windows with page files and bloating temp folder that slow everything.

Software updates can do that as well.

I have Windows 10 and every time MS updates it I brace to fix the errors that follow as a result.

Then I do a search to find out what happened and use the fixes posted by users. For a few months now I have to do a cmd reset in order to be able to run websites b/c Edge is not doing it.

Thanks, but I haven't fooled with cookie cleanup for a while so I'll rule that out for now. I'm thinking Firefox does an auto update and resets the browser in the process. Maybe Yahoo "donates" to Firefox to do that. When I get a chance I'm thinking of looking into this "Vivaldi" FFA mentioned above.

Normally it's a cookie thing, and if you delete or clean them it resets.

I'm not sure what's happening, but I can set my Firefox default search engine to Duckduckgo and it works for a few days, then boom, it's back to Yahoo again without me doing anything. Annoying.

Vivaldi allows me to set whatever engine I wish as the default search. It also has shortcuts to use the non-defaults if I need to. Of course that has no effect on the search within a web site as on Foxnews.

Yes. I found out that Firefox is using Google for its search some time ago. There is no way to stop it. I searched the web but none of the remedies work.

I have a yahoo email account for my junk mail and I installed an AdBlocker to remove the crap I don't want to see/read. Yahoo is sending me mails regularly asking to remove the Blocker on the excuse that 1) they make their money on ads, and 2) I would not be able to "enjoy" the "features" Yahoo is offering.

Insidious Google seems to have wormed its way into virtually all the Internet nooks and crannies. I don't know if your browser has it, but Firefox has a rolling list of one liner thread hits on the lower left of its window and I'm surprised to see "Google" hits fly by even when least expected. I have no idea how to stop it. I'm starting to see more Yahoo crap dead-ending things, too, even when I don't use Yahoo for searches. The only time I use Yahoo is when someone here in the Gulch has a link to a Yahoo article.

The Fox link is working again.
I keyword searched the Fox site earlier using parts of the article title and had zero valid hits. Maybe Fox's search uses Google and it omits anything that is truthful about Pelosi. ;^)
