What can we do?

After reading a great number of submissions about today´s actual society and global situation, I started to meditate about what can we, readers of Atlas Shrugged, do about these problems. I´m not asking about ideas that are extremely difficult to accomplish, but small things that can help this world to make a change. I thought of one that may seem quite unproductive. It is to "convince" other people to read this book, so as to they think and see things like we do.

Yes, I agree about the UK government. I'm not a socialist and it's very frustrating. Not sure what your point is - you seem rather hostile towards one who wishes change.

And now another refrain gets implanted in my brain... Lol

Well, we are in it now. That belligerent dictator took office today, (I of course did NOT watch that debacle), and we are firmly on the path to ruin.

Re approval to any new prime minister. Yes, she does, but it's just for theatrical purposes really - it would have to be something very very serious for her not agree. Re slapping down a law - it's just theory. In practice, if this happened the government of the day would just force her abdication. The monarchy is there by popular consent and therefore can be overthrown, as has happened historically. I'm more concerned about our mindset of subservience to the EU than I would ever be to what is really just a figurehead of the nation.

Reading AS does not convince people to think and see things as you do. Most who read it reject parts of it. It has sold a lot. The movies were a flop. Join Tea Party Patriots and get into the streets. Stop the attitude that you'll take your ball and go home unless someone agrees with everything you do.

Go on strike in any small way you can. Do not contribute to any statist program. Consent of the victim is their greatest tool. Never give it.

What powers do you think they have? You don't need to tell me that we are anything but a free people - I am completely aware of that, seeing as I'm English living in England, seeing corrupt governments whichever flavour they may be! We can never be free in socialist Europe, and for sure not as long as we are part of the EU(SSR)

Study. Learn something new; a new skill. When you have a skill that is needed by society, you will be able to trade that for some compensation. Medical, gardening, carpentry, and automechanics are some that come to mind.

Having a Queen is irrelevant. The government is in control, or rather, the EU is. The Queen and Royal Family are now just a tourist attraction.

What can we do? We can continue to be productive individuals. The larger and more intrusive the government becomes the higher the number of individuals finding it offensive and wanting to resist will grow. Eventually a tipping point will occur and that means the elected officials will either be voted out of office (based on a belief in liberty and individualism) or 1776 Part II will happen.

There are lots of people who think like us, but we are a minority. Groups in your area you probably know about who believe in small government and freedom. There is no middle of the road now. It is disheartening, to say the least, and most of us that have been involved, see the end is near.

Thanks for the suggestions, and I would like to add that since we are an important number of people who think alike, we could do domething really big if we orginized something. Maybe something can be done.....
