Trump formally notified UN of the US withdrawal from the foolish, anti-American Paris global warming agreement

“What we won’t do is punish the American people while enriching foreign polluters,” Trump said at a shale gas industry conference in Pennsylvania on Oct. 23, referring to his planned withdrawal from the agreement.
On Nov 4, 2020, the day after Trump's re-election, the US will be free of the insane anti-American regulations imposed by Obama's idiocy.

Me dino wants to see an exit from the UN altogether along with placing an eviction notice on that UN building in New York City.

      Hear, hear!

I have been of the same conviction for a long time.

The UN has done everything in its power to oppose the US in foreign and even domestic policies. It has vilified Israel by supporting a strongly biased position for the Palestinian terrorists.

At the same time using a real estate in NY to house a large contingent of liberals to push their corrosive global agenda, while we are paying exorbitant sums for their "services".

The UN was a perfect complement to Obama's agenda. It is high time not only to withdraw from the Paris accord but boot them out of the US. We discussed before that the best location for the do-nothing bureaucrats living the high life would be in Africa where they could demonstrate their "understanding" of the developing world.

Me dino has held that conviction for a long time too.
In fact, I've held that conviction for a long time before I learned of Ayn Rand from Christmas gifts of the AS DVDs and as a result stumbled into The Gulch.

Given that it was a treaty never ratified by the Senate, I'm not sure why this has to wait for a year. The treaty was never binding in the first place...

Because the UN hopes that something will happen to prevent Trump's re-election or that they will discover some way to control him?
It is typical of government agencies to rope in their victims and make it difficult for any independent thinking individual to escape their clutches.

Exactly. Look how long Brexit is taking even after the British people voted to make it happen. Bureaucratic and DS foot dragging and obstruction slowing it all down.

One of the tactics perfected by the left.

Labor's Corbyn is playing the role of "redoing" the referendum in the hope next time it will come out in favor of staying. There was a referendum on it already: the majority voted for Brexit. Same thing the left is attempting to do in this country. In Holland the leadership simply ignored election results because it was against their policies.

"Until its formal exit, the United States will continue to participate in negotiations over the technical aspects of the agreement, represented by a small team of[:] "#career State Department officials#"!!!!!!!.

I see this as a positive step in the right direction. I do not think we can extract ourselves like pulling a plug from a wall socket, but need to take a measured withdrawal to have a voice in the proceedings. Consider, even after we've exited completely that entity will likely continue to function, making it's policies and attempting to impose punitive fees and fines on those they feel are in violation thier core tenants. How else will they fund themselves and or attempt to legitimize their authority in the matter?

    a) I think the climate has changed many times in the past due to overwhelming planetary changes having nothing to with us.

    b) Personally I have no interest in whats going to happen in 2050 or 2100, since I will surely be dead and buried by then. It will be up to the people living at that time to deal with climate changes

    c) Most of the CO2 comes from other countries anyway who are exempt from the accord.
