Well, this is interesting, and at the same time, hard to find......I do like their premise...

    I, for one, don't want to see 2 more senators from Kalifornia. They have 2 more than I think they deserve already.

      Well, yes, that is a question, since the Deep State is infiltrating their nitwits into all the states at the local level. Ever wonder why Portland is insane? Seattle, Eugene, Salem, and state governments? Imagine a herd of programmed Adam Sh@ts running for office and then corrupting the voting system so you can't even watch votes being counted? It's happening now. So NewCali may start off clean, but could fall quickly.

    There have been several alternative efforts here in the past decade or so. The one with the most history is the State of Jefferson. The area where that has been promoted is so beautiful.

    What makes me sad at this point is that this place is arguably the most beautiful place in the world, in rapid decay now. When you take in the scenery, the mountains, beaches, forests, deserts...it's an amazing place with incredible natural resources. The weather is stupid good here. Might be having our turkey out in the back yard patio this week. But, see the video on youtube called "a mental health crisis" and you see what I see all the time here now. Was born here. Been here a long time. I've watched it transition right in front of me. I like to talk about the times when my family would pack a picnic basket after school and work and drive over the hill to have dinner on beautiful beaches open to the public. We'd just drive up, park for free, walk 10 feet to the sand and enjoy the sunset together. It was amazing. Heaven...

      Yes, that is what I was expressing some time ago when Gulchers were telling me to get out of here.

      The physical beauty and the climate are attributes difficult to leave behind. I think many of us just trying to tough out the declining state until it becomes truly impossible to tolerate it any more.

        At a personal level, I'm ready to leave in no more than two years - when my professional/financial situation is ready. I'll miss what this place once was - but, I already do. I just don't want to pay for so many poor decisions from high places beyond my control. And, it's not very safe here. I'll have to drag my family with me because this is all they know. But - even though we're in a nice area we've had the cops take a fugitive at gunpoint as he was hiding my my front yard, a couple of car burglaries, several run-ins with crazy homeless people, epic traffic, shitty air quality...For all of those who remain except me it's the example of the slow-boiling frog. The schools are in crisis. Gas tax on top of gas tax and the potholes and traffic remain. Sad. It's like seeing your high school sweetheart at the reunion and she looks like a crack whore...

          Depending on your need for work, the middle part of Oregon (below Eugene, but above Kalamath) is pretty rural, still mostly conservative, and affordable. I was looking at a triple wide on 60 acres for 500K that was very nice. Idaho gets a lot of cold and snow, down there they get the occasional dump, but not often, yet. Can't do much about insane demonrats in Salem and their taxes, but if you want a more sane state, you have to go to the midwest and they kep infiltrating at the local levels until they take over. I actually saw a rant from a gut in Kalifornia complaining the election corruption makes it impossible to vote them out, and I can believe that is true, Oregon went to vote by mail, just to facilitate the same thing. Corruption is everywhere, so it is hard to find a place they have not infected.

          Do you have any place in mind you'll consider as alternative?

          Some friends moved to Idaho but I can't see myself shoveling snow again, after 10 years in PA.

          Then another moved to Seattle, WA, which would be the same as staying in CA with worse weather.

        It is always a battle when you have an environment you find appealing, but it has a creeping fungus of some kind which will destroy it. When do you leave? Is it the Titanic and you hang on playng Nearer My God to Thee? It is an individual valuation process. Just think about alternatives. Liberals have ruined the entire west coast and so, if you like it, it is now just a case of "which is best, and sucks the least".

    I can attest to that. And most of them come to SF and the Bay area.

    Considering that the date is 2018, not much has happened since. Newsom was elected governor and if anything, things are getting worse.

      Yes, I went to their web site, they are active at the county level, maybe because they are following the Constitution and all parties must agree to the break. That alone will be used against them, there will be ONE county that will hold out and make it impossible, but will drag it out for years. One reason for the Civil War. Will be the same for the upcoming one as well...
