My AR platform is actually chambered in .22. You can't tell the difference unless you eject the magazine or fire a shot. And yes, a .22 in the right place can be very effective...

You don't have to buy an AR15. I have a .22 rifle (Ruger) that looks like an assault rifle. And you don't want to see what one .22 bullet can do inside your body.
