In a very real sense socialism and communism fit the biblical definition of evil. While Capitalism is certainly not pure and wholesome it is, at least as the Framers conceived it, one based on man's free will, his/her natural right to determine ones own way in the world.

Ayn Rand wasn't into religious definitions of morality, but she did know what was right to enable individual freedom, and what was wrong. Collectivism is harmful to individual liberty, and socialism is collectivism, where all (supposedly) are given the same "fair" outcome, regardless of their individual talent, drive, intelligence, or initiative.

Utopian fantasies are not a modern invention. Plato's "Republic" was the first documented example of a idealistic vision of collectivist society, and there were probably others before that. These are the product of an infantile mind not capable of accepting reality (hard to think of Plato as "infantile" but I calls 'em as I sees 'em). Some purveyors of these fantasies are smart enough to know they won't work for the people, but because of their seductive promises, make a good way to build power. Bernie Sanders is clearly one of these, an old school communist elitist, rotten to the core.

Thanks for the post and link ... it's been awhile since I viewed some of the Ayn Rand videos. Of course it was expected to see some YouTube comments related to Rand receiving Medicare and the beneficence of Socialism. When will these people figure out that The State can only give that which it has already taken... and that The State is an instrument of force, threats, coercion and violence?

Me old dino has Medicare and collect my monthly Social Security payments. I'm not ashamed to take back some of what has been taken from me all those years I worked. What do those picky people think Ayn Rand and me dino are supposed to do in our old age? Have worse health issues and die quicker? Don't think all those sanctimonious full of themselves big mouths will either when they get old.
