So pleased to see this be addressed.

One might think Californication wouldn't even press charges, but now that they've killed the goose, they may have to fight over the eggs.

My state says 25 years in the security services gets you 50% of your final average salary,(FAS) of the highest 3 years. So you start at age 21 and retire at 46 with 50%. Pension. If your final average was $70K you get $35 each year for life. Here is the real scam going on to this day. Your last 5 years when you are making the highest in your pay grade you do every hour of overtime you can get. Instead of making your base $70K you crank it up to $125+ as your FAS and now instead of retiring at $35K you retire at $62,500 or more and if you keep working for more than 25 years you can continue cranking your pension up. I know guys who retired and their pension check every year is higher than their base salary was.

When Mary Fallin won the 2010 Oklahoma governor's race, her losing opponent, Jari Askins, was given a $250K/yr job at Oklahoma University. The job had not existed before, was not competitively interviewed, and initially had no job description. The president of the university at the time was a former Democrat governor of the state, David Boren, who is now under investigation for irresponsible overspending.

Fayek's attorney saying, "It's a terribly unjust result" is okay by me dino. He (I use proper pronouns save for "me dino" usage) as Fayek's trained legal representative was paid to say that and at least he was on the job at the time.

    Just read the article.

The guy apparently was simply MIA but did not perform any work.

Wasn't there a contract to specify what was he supposed to do when "working from home"?

It is usually assumed that you put in some results, same as you were working on site.

His only defense is that he "did what his superior told him".

I doubt the superior intended a leave of absence and pay for nothing.

But indicative of the lackadaisical attitude of people who get public retirements, and the fact states keep running increasing deficits for them, because they have no idea what is going on at the ground level.
