Of Cosmic Justice and Cosmik Justice

We normally associate social justice with remedies for socio-economic class disparities, but this isn’t true. Its much more enterprising than that. Anything that can be associated with “through no fault of their own” is fair game. The quest for cosmic justice expands the focus to innumerable segments of the population, living and dead, and disregards the interests of the individuals who nevertheless pay the price. Zappa describes the cosmic allure of dependency and victimhood: “With the oil of Aphrodite, and the dust of the Grand Wazoo. He said you might not believe this, little fella. But it will cure your asthma too.”

Most terrifying of all is regulation of free speech via the guise of social network censorship and communication restrictions.

There's the censorship being implemented by the companies themselves, and there's talk of government censorship of the censorship. The problem described in this post of irrational thinking and the horrible unintended consequences of government overreach.

Twenty years ago Dr. Thomas Sowell published his response to the contradictions of "social justice" with his The Quest for Cosmic Justice. Of course there are no contradictions but false premises, and he discusses the complexities of historical sins and the simpleton remedies being pushed by social justice warriors.
