I would stay away from BofA, but a long time ago I opened a small account with them because they had branches in the cities I traveled to. The local bank (Credit Union) I've done business with for over 50 years doesn't have that reach. Likely, there are other solutions nowadays, but it is convenient when I need it.

In 2003, Wells Fargo bought the mortgages of several homes on my side of my street, but not the ones behind us that are at a very slightly lower elevation. Then they declared that we were in a flood zone. With our county FEMA coordinator, using the same flood service certification company that had originally said that we weren't in a flood zone, I proved that their basis for that conclusion was quite literally holding the flood zone map and a map with the homes on it up to a light and moving them up or down a little. The edge of the street had been the previous flood zone edge; now suddenly it was a few feet into my front yard. Shazam!

I have been involved in autism research for a couple decades. And, not just for my own kid. I was heavily involved with the Mind Institute in the UC system. Was even a subject in a few studies. It was very interesting. But, believe me when I say that all of the research that is conducted with universities and other taxpayer funded and pharma funded efforts have been a massive exercise in "seek and avoid". I have, firsthand, watched these bodies cover up data and lie.

Yeah, it's a strange facet to discuss - the profit margin for doctors. Who cares?
