Never disappointed on Sunday Mornings thanks to you, OUC! The first panel of the first set says a lot, but Wyle E. Coyjackass will be desperately trying to raise his lying head in the midterms. Is that the Trump train still "on fire" and burning into 2026, LOL? Franklin is quite the guy, heh heh. Thanks for explaining who piggy was so I didn't have to do a search. Ahhh, the Maduro snatch! The world took a breath on that op! FAFO Message sent...

    $24B on homeless programs!
My guess is maximum altruism benefit would be around $0.5B spending.
Maximum socio-economic benefit at around $50m for water, wastewater, law enforcement at the sites.

    A New York jury..
That could be the outcome, but- he will be out of action for long enough for alternatives to establish themselves. I do not see any chance of his return to power in Venezuela.

Rand realized that the pervasive morality of altruism was not solely religious.
Yes, good point. So many advocates of altruism are pushing for power and influence - for themsleves. I am reading about Malthus at the moment. He explains how welfare can help a few individuals but works to the detriment of the poor, handicapped, unlucky and everyone else in general.

I like this thread- well not quite enough to give a plus tick,
but certainly for the discussion and ideas.

Me dino not surprised for noticing that the Jackass Party is going TDS overboard over the superb military action that bagged Maduro.
Me also heard some unpleasant speculation about how a New York jury may determine that murdering dictator's guilt.

Correct, Rand was all about Capitalism and those that understand put that on our list of things to conserve; but what pisses me off is when people that truly don't get it and even some that do, (if they thought about it) jump on the Sacrifice/non sacrifice bandwagon.
I like to put it this way using Rand's own words, just spelled correctly (laughing): It's Not "Selfishness". It's CELFishness. Every cell in the body is totally responsible for it's own survival and Happiness and once those needs and desires are met, the value is automatically passed on. Much like bending over backwards to share the food you made with someone that drops in at supper time. That, in my observation is a part of being Human as apposed to being Humanoid, (Human-Void).
That is not to say that anyone can't sacrifice what ever they want (so long as it does not harm others). That, just like free speech should be conserved as a right and not a requirement>

😂. Several chuckles to start the year!

I’ve got to read 1984 again. Orwell is a concise version of Ms. Rand.

One can be both conservative and libertarian without being Objectivist. Donway's essay outlines Ayn Rand's moral case for capitalism succinctly. For a more complete treatment of the moral case for capitalism, I recommend dbhalling's Pendulum of Justice (https://www.amazon.com/Pendulum-Justi.... It makes me realize how long it has been since we saw dbhalling and khalling in the Gulch.

Trump 28 doesn't have to be Don Sr. Wouldn't it be ironic if the first female president was Ivanka?

Those two words "paralyzing stupidity" do a fine job of expressing word economy. It is sad to think that so many elected / installed bureaucrats can be characterized by those words.
Just a spoonful of sprinkles help the feces go down, in the most delightful way.
Thank you OUC. And wishing all readers well on what should be an interesting year.

IFF the states were ever to get together - is there any limit as to the money that would be spent or the articles of the constitution that would be brought?

There would be so much money from all over the world - just thinking about all of the monies that would be brought to bear to bring down the only country/system/compassion that has brought more of the WORLD out of poverty than any other...

And that is what so many of them want.. We need to keep our constitution intact (and keep the jackass's hands off of it) and I for one am very concerned that if there ever was a constitutional convention it would end up ... badly

So what do all think that the Jackass's will learn from the next few years? Or are they beyond learning (or as they say in MN learing)?
