I don't doubt the quantifiable aspects of the measured emissions, only the misconception that they are destroying the environment.

And sorry, but there's nothing as tasty at a barbecue than hamburgers or a nice juicy steak grilled over seasoned briquettes. Yum. Good thing it's lunch time.

Livestock causes very little climate change effect. Methane stays in the atmosphere for only a short time, before it gets oxidized into harmless products (CO2 and water). Livestock only gets drawn into the story because it is political. They can regulate and tax and subsidize farming very easily, without losing many votes (unlike fossil fuels).

And when I think of all the buffalo that once roamed the plains, it's a good thing we damn near wiped them out to extinction... altho I sure do love my Emu-burgers...

The article... sounds like soft-core PETA propaganda...

Now if you'll 'scuze me, I have to go to the meat market, see if they have fresh spareribs (AKA Steak on a Stick) for Thursday's BBQ...

The central authority of my religion, which advises semi-vegetarianism, has released a new edict:
Beef eating is encouraged if accompanied by this prayer-
"O beneficent CO2, widespread may your goodness reach."

Rib eye steak and roast can't be beat when cooked on charcoal with hickory smoke.
For tonight however I have a 6 lb pork butt (shoulder, actually) to cook for 8 hours. Tomorrow there will be heavenly NC pulled pork bar-be-que.

Except for the onions, looks good. Tried KH's pulled pork BBQ crockpot recipe which turned out pretty good. This one is probably next. 6 lbs is pretty hefty for me, so probably need to cut down to about 1/3 of that.

That said, my wood fired BBQ pit still does it best.
