Another reason to avoid Chicago. As if you needed one.

So, how does this fit into O's scheme of eliminating dissent? Quite nicely. I can honestly say I think that the people responsible for approving this technology should have to have it in their own homes. Find out what they're up to. Full disclosure. And that this falls under illegal search and seizure. What kind of moron would use this?? Maybe in areas like military installations, or around bases in threatening areas of the world, but at home?? Shoot them out.

The sheople prefer ignorant bliss until the brown shirts start rounding them up. First they install the devices and assure you they will not be used against you or violate your privacy. Then they say they will only be used against criminals and the data will not be stored, Then we find they have lied and they collect the data and have violated our privacy and lied again. It is Big Brother. It is incremental-ism used to great effect. It is a common means of our government to gain control and power over the masses. Remember when car companies were mandated to install seat-belts, but you weren't required to wear them, although you would pay for them in higher car prices (same with air bags). Then you were required to wear them, but you couldn't be stopped just for not wearing one. Then you were subject to being stopped just for not wearing one... There was money to be made, power to be gained and insurance lobbies to profit from in the form of political support. Sure wearing a seat-belt is a good idea, but who are you endangering but yourself? Who do you belong to? When was the last time you heard of someone hurt by impact of an ejected body and what about motorcycle riders? Does the car driver possess fewer rights?
Someone (Big Brother) is always watching us in case there is opportunity for profit or control.

I left IL. Life is better. For now. It's almost like moving from one part of a toilet bowl to a different part ~ does it really make a difference in the end? This is how pathetic things have gotten in such a short time.

All this data WILL be trading hands via the IoT, regardless of what politicians do. We need rules to manage it. I don't see any stopping the IoT turning into a massive sensor network.
