The strawman is alive and well

I see a lot of the debates and arguments on this blog contain the strawman fallacy. The arguments are constructed to create a false or exaggerated weakened opponent position so that the favored position gains more credibility.
Isn't it more satisfying in using our intelligence to gain true insight than espousing old untruths?
Heinlein said " If everyone knows such and such, then it ain't so by at least ten thousand to one ".
“I never learned from a man who agreed with me.”
― Robert A. Heinlein
Just an observation. :)

Yes. Dale Carnegie says we're wrong about most things we think in some way.

Some people who say they can't find a way to make their business work because of the gov't could compensate for the very real negative effect of the gov't by reading How to Win Friends and Influence People.
