Breitbart Critical of Bundy and Infowars

I read some solid reporting of the recent rancherr standoff. This article is critical of both Bundy's rights and Infowars reporting on Reid's son's interests in a large Chinese energy company. I looked to several sources and think the connection is very valid. As for Bundy's ancestral claims he is correct in saying that the turning over of the grazing rights to BLM require some consideration. Bundy says he received nothing in the way of management of the land for which he originally paid the per head fee. Only restrictions. Regardlesss of losing the federal appeals I think his case is solid. There needed to have been consideration for turning the ancestor's grazing rights over.

Thanks for the article. I don't understand all the details of the dispute, but I'm sick of see the govt using potentially lethal force on people who do not present a threat to life.

Add to that, the purported reason for the restriction is the desert tortoise, a creature so endangered that when the research station funding was eliminated, chose to euthanize those same tortoises instead of letting them loose in the desert or finding zoos or other sanctuaries for them to live/breed in.

I've been getting nothing but 400 and 404 errors for the last hour to Breitbart Bundy stories. Anyway, I'm convinced about Reid's involvement in this, even though Bundy is also Mormon. But I imagine that Reid doesn't care much about that. Note that Utah has done more to support Bundy than Nevada has.

Fox has done a recent special about another Nevada family, in Nye county, that's been going through the same type of battle for some 25 years as well. Hage (?) The difference is that the Nye County Sheriff stepped up and stopped the BLM seizure of those cattle, even responding to BLM's threat of a SWAT team, that they would have to face the Sheriff's SWAT team. I'd like to read some of the court decisions on Bundy's cases and the appeals to the 9th.

I'm just wondering, maybe hopefully, that this event has some legs in the broader realm of citizen resistance and non-compliance. I read that there were people there from as far away as NH. That's something.

I was having trouble with the link also. Thanks for the new one, khalling. Bundy didn't exactly have "clean hands" did he? But I hope the government took note of citizens willingness to rally behind a perceived abuse of its power.

I'm not sure I agree. Bundy had rights not leasehold. The BLM did not perform their end of the bargain for those rights. It was a two decades long court battle. Murky and I'm stuck on those proprty rights and consideration for them against management by regulation which was not BLMs stated purpose at inception

Right. Thankfully no blood was spilled and now it appears the issue will move back to the courts to settle which entity--Fed or state--actually owns (or controls?) the land. Bundy 2.0 is coming.

But the point I wanted to make is that armed citizens (militias) self-activated and came to take his back just as the 2nd amendment anticipated. I just hope the government took note.

well, they took note. and they will bring out the big guns now. IRS< dept of agriculture, EPA, DofD, DoJ. Mr. Bundy's life will continue to be mired up in the courts with money he does not have to fight them. He doesn't show up? they will arrest him in the dead of night...Go read conservative news-he didn't pay his grazing fees, he's a little crazy...in the end, the cameras will be barred from the courtroom while he is dragged away

The BLM spec ifically cited they were using that land for solar development. The only movement in the county involved the chinese energy company and Nevadas largest energy company as their customer. Bundy said he never cared about the grazing fees he just expected BLM to make good on their management promises. Instead they only served up further restrictions. It drove all the other ranchers away. What would be the effect of solar installations on the tortise?

Good question. We have a large solar power plant in the Mojavi Desert north Palmdale-Lancaster in California. I remember there were concerns about tortoise habitat, but I don't know it was resolved. The plant has been built however. I'm going to research how they weasled out of the problem.
