It's the first of April already and the pond in my backyard is still frozen over.

Algore is so busy making mega-millions off this glob...excuse me...climate change nonsense that he appears to be letting Hillary/Bill run virtually unopposed in 2016 for the Demoscat nomination.

Lucky for me it's not actually my property, merely out my backdoor - I was lucky and purchased the first lot, so got the best one. 1.5 acres, plus another 1.2 that cannot be built on for the pond and surrounding "nature preserve." I'd put a skating rink on it in the winter, except my ankles suck, and I have never had much luck standing up on skates.
Technically, it is a rainwater retention pond and is not linked in with any moving water, so not sure that the EPA has much interest. But we're talking about the gov't so I'm sure they can find a reason if they want.

btw - in case you can't tell, it's still totally covered in ice.

As of about 10 am, there had been 27 voters in the 3 aldermanic districts that comprise my cty district in the town that I vote in (which is 1 of 3 in the district). So, basically, no. They'll either call me this evening (each of the polling locations should be finished tallying within 30 secs of polls closing, unless there's someone coming in at the last minute). Since there're multiple locations it will take a few mins to get the info to the county, so I figure that they should know about 8:30pm tonight. Making a few calls this afternoon/eve to make sure that everyone actually gets to the polls. Most of those folks that I know have already let me know that they have voted.
