It sounds familiar, similar in nature to the fight Henry Ford had with ALAM.

We have this in Texas. Tesla Motors is prohibited from directly marketing its cars. The statewide automobile dealership organization plowed money into legislative campaigns and got the law they wanted.

I would comment, but I see db had already been over there early this morning.
and there are tons of bad laws out there. I wonder why a bunch of law professors are speaking out about this one
