Earlier this week we looked at possible casting for the movie including many nefarious government characters and (on the producer's part of the web site) heroes from among the paying customers to Galt's Gulch.

I first read Atlas Shrugged during the TARP bailout and then re-read it when Obama got elected and then re-read parts of it at several points in 2009. It is so highlighted with my comparisons to what happened in that forsaken era of 2008-2009 that the book has nearly fallen apart.

I am asking for your accounts of moments in the last 50 years (and particularly the last 10) of times that you went to the book (AS) and put your handwritten notes in checking off that particular page as actually having happened.

Dealing with what has happened in recent memory elicits anger, melancholy, or the occasional chuckle. These are feelings - definitely not Galtish. In the book, the characters often responded with the chuckle and "Who is John Galt?" I am an extremely positive person, so I would rather chuckle. Writing in my copy of AS is my way of dealing with those dreaded other feelings that I am trying to stamp out for good.
