A top GOP pollster tried to find out why people love Donald Trump — and left with his legs 'shaking'

This almost belongs in the humor category. The media doesn't know it's supposed to report the news? I especially liked the bit at the end.

People are sick of politicians who guard everything they utter and filter it in fear of "offending someone" - that's why it's called "political correctness". Trump just doesn't give a darn about what people think of him, and speaks what's on his mind, not what is considered "politic" at any given point. And because of that "frank honesty" he portrays as his image, people flock to him... they feel that instead of being a weak leader bending to what everyone else wants, he'll stand on his own. Right, wrong, or otherwise, for once, what you see is what you get. People LIKE that.

It's the same reason Sanders took off on the left - most libs were afraid to be known as the socialists they are; Sanders proclaims it loudly. It reads as honest... even if you despise socialism for the scourge it is, at least you know where this guy stands.

The American people have had it with phony, sniveling, and lying politicians that will say and hide anything to try to get elected... and rely on over-edited, reworked, and molded canned answers and teleprompted speeches engineered to allegedly "appeal" to the broadest audience while offending no-one.

You are indeed correct. I think he is a master of the obvious, and is voicing what the unwashed masses are really concerned about. The Political correctness crap is so widespread and woven into society today, most people have had run ins with it, just go to you local school to see what you are paying for and try to walk out undismayed. We have 2-3 generations of idiots now who know how to not offend anyone, but not anything else. And they are bad at that too.

I will say this - I was at one time behind Rand in his run, but Trump's coarse and straightforward talk (I can only hope honesty?) has made me rethink this. Especially since I've seen Paul (a) resort to spam email campaigns. amd (b) flipflop on issues to play to his alleged "base" instead of the American people.

Plus... I have to say this - Trump, for his shortfalls, IS a BUSINESSMAN, and a damned successful one at that. Compared to a politician, that carries a LOT of weight from someone like me who is also a businessperson. He may actually have the Producer's intrests at heart. And I like that.

The GOP's been out of touch for years. Trump has pounced on the opportunity. There was no way the GOP was going to beat Hillary, or whoever else the Dems were going to run. No way.

The Dumbocraps are also on Pluto some-wheres. That's the root cause for all this. Political parties are all about the manipulation and we have bred self thinking, integrity and honesty out of the last few generations.

I do believe that the grassroot constituency is made as hell! I, myself falls into that category. When Trump leaves self serving politicians blood on the floor I want to dance in glee!

At this point Trump does look unbeatable in the primaries. Which means I'll have to vote for the Libertarian Party candidate.

For all his opposition to political correctness, this is not a man who will ever shrink government, much less take any of the cronyism out of it.

the is from my VFW email, as follows, Candidate Suggests Eliminating VA: Earlier this week presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson suggested that the Department of Veterans Affairs could be eliminated by moving its services and programs under the Department of Defense. The VFW strongly opposes this idea and VFW National Commander John Biedrzycki Jr., explains why this breaks faith with our wounded, injured and ill veterans here: http://www.vfw.org/News-and-Events/Ar.... yes, but the VA has proven itself to be totally inadequate to it's customers (just like everyother government department). Maybe that is what the D can be used for, put him in charge of it, I bet he will find a way to turn a profit, or at least go BK and then turn a profit, with it.:)

In the event DT does get elected I expect that the media will still not recognize that he won fair and square because he basically is saying what he has observed while the competition is still trying to snow the population. For good or bad he is in the cat bird seat at this time.

I think Eudaimonia's comment was essentially
correct. I do not intend to vote for Trump in the
primary. I do not want him as the nominee. But I
think what has been going on with him is, in a way,
understandable. It's unfortunate, but well, there's
    cause and effect.

I would vote for him in the primary. I dont want another Bush (and this one seems a bit stupid to boot), and the religious ones are ridiculous. That leaves Ben Carson who just ISNT presidential and would never win the general election, and Rand Paul who is pretty good, but doesnt stand out as someone who could convince anyone of anything.

Ben is certainly electable in my view. I am sick of the career politicians.

Ben seems a bit too reserved to be electable in this environment. He is quiet and would be bowled over I think in a real campaign. Too bad, because he is very intelligent and rational. I would be happy with him, except for a bit of the religious stuff he seems to be into.

Yes, I have seen some of the YT videos where he talks religion. I am ok with it if it stays at home where it belongs. He does not trot out policies based on what the Christian Bloc wants, if he can make it fit into what is a good policy for most or all he is always going to do it, but I don't have a problem with that.

Ben impresses me a a man who thinks, and he is quick to boot. He just is not a ranting and raving politician promising everything to everyone, which makes him look weird. I think we are so used to the buffoons, we have made the the standard, and anything else (Trump/Carson) that is out of the norm is untrustworthy. Yet we know, based on previous experience, everyone of the career politicos ARE untrustworthy, and do not have our best interests in mind. It's all about the Party and money.

It is simple, in my opinion, he does NOT care what anybody thinks, or implies, he can afford to do what the hell he wants, and get away with it.

Even when you ardently disagree with him, Trump at least seems honest in his advocacy. He strips himself naked metaphorically speaking, and declares of himself, "Here I am, take me or leave me, but there is no mystery about me." He appears to be anti-political, and what most Americans are sick of, is politicians. To date, not a single one currently in office has stood up to their promises.
