Climate Change, Slimate Prange! Good Lord! The climate has been changing since the beginning of the world. Just another way to control the people with imagined fear.

Warm is good. Where I live a 2 degree increase means two crops of hay a year, increased tree growth, and reduced heating costs for winter. It means abandoned lands can be returned to crop production because the growing season will be extended 2-3 weeks. It also means increased fish production as it is the shallow coastal fisheries that are the most productive and if you flood Florida the new fishing will feed the world. Under water cities are great reefs. Imagine fishing for bonehead out of your office window on the 2nd floor. All buildings are water front with elevated surface travel. Unfortunately it will start to cool and turn all those farms and cities into cold dry land being ground up by glaciers.

The reality of anthropogenic climate change is irrelevant to politicians, all that matters is that it is a powerful political tool. To the extent that it is real politicians pretending to be scientists is the last bunch that should be trusted with finding a solution.

Watching the sun, I've been concerned about global cooling for a decade.

One of the things that the global warming people never talk about is that, to a point, warmer is better. If the planet is warming then it will actually be better for some time to come. Cold is associated with famine and disease, warmth with well being.

Absolutely! Mark Steyn has a new book on "climate change" coming out on Kindle on September 1st. It's called, "A Disgrace to the Profession." Should be excellent.

Reading it now. It's a series of mostly one page articles by prominent professionals about the hockey stick scam from a few years ago, which some warmists still believe. It is excellent. Even statists with short attention spans can learn something, assuming they would open the book. Not currently on Kindle, however.

we like warmer, yet as the sunspot cycle ends, we are ready
for cooler. . please take care as you watch the sun -- wear
a strong welding shield, we would recommend!!! -- j

Well, I meant paying attention to the sun rather than actually watching it. When I want to look at the actual sun I use a pair of binoculars and project an image.

I do the same with my telescope. I mount a piece of white paper where the persons head would normally be, and the image gets projected out of the eye piece and onto the paper, where it can be safely observed by people.

At least the skeptics are starting to talk about the farce of global warming - right out loud. They are still getting shouted down by the liberals who treat EPA edicts as religious pronouncements...but for a long while there was just silence. Now we are increasingly hearing disputes on global-daily-renaming.

    "Settled Science". Bah!

I don't like to memorize little nitpicking details, and
yet my memory is long, (for things I do remember).
I remember reading about a prediction of global
cooling, or a summer like the "summer of 1816",
back in the 1970's. In other words, amounting to
"global cooling". It looks like the statists are
determined to get their way, one way or another.
    So one should look out.

Another Chicken Little warning us about Falling Skies. By the way, I love the demonstration as to why the glaciers melting would not raise the seas one inch. Fill a glass almost to the top with water. carefully add ice so that the water is as high as it can go. Let the ice melt. What happens? Nothing. The ice melts. That's it. The water level is neither raised nor lowered. Looks like NYC is safe after all. Not to mention all of Florida which is just a few inches above the ocean.

Climate change promoters are adept at morphing from one purported "coming calamity" to another. The melting glaciers (or polar ice caps) argument predicting dramatic rising oceans has been replaced with predictions of destruction of the food chain from too much fresh water from those melting sources diluting the saline levels of the oceans, and destroying plankton. Of course, they skip the part about Arctic ice being saline, not fresh.

Actually, both the Arctic and Antarctic qualify as deserts, with little precipitation. The Antarctic ice is substantially from precipitation, as the snow rarely evaporates, but Arctic ice is mostly frozen arctic sea water. Melting Antarctic ice is less saline than Arctic.

The global cooling has been discussed since the 1970's. and the published works of Anderson in Fortune magazine in 1974 and the book The Cooling by Lowell Ponte stated that we i.e. the earth would go through the weather trends as we have experienced before going colder. I have met and spoken with John Casey and i agree totally with him. I will watch the videos linked later but I am sure that I will agree with this other fellow as well. The earth is cooling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 1975, the CIA took seriously the prospect of global cooling, with crop failures, food shortages, and wars the like of which the world has never seen. Now this alien President of ours glommed onto the global-warming narrative. Because that narrative lends itself to socialism.

"Global Weather Oscillations". Catchy! It's so much more inclusive and indistinct that "Global Warming" or "Climate Change".

I can hear it now: "Gee, it looks like it might rain. Must be due to Global Weather Oscillations! When will those damned deniers see the truth?"

I just read articles by John Casey showing the U.S. gov't has the figures showing the Global Climate has gone up from 1979 to 2014 a total of .36 degrees Fahrenheit and the BIG STORY is from 1998 til 2014 the temp has dropped 1.08 degrees Fahrenheit! Global Warming my butt. Also NASA photo's taken at the same intervals in 2012 and 2013 show the Polar Ice Cap to have almost tripled in size.

Yet the U.S. gov't continues to fund Global Warming intitiatives to the tune of $22 Billion per year during this current administration. FYI: Al Gore is owner/head of the largest part of the groups receiving this funding.

Once again the people are being lied too, the 1960's was the lie of DDT, the 1970's Global Cooling and lead gasoline poisoning, 1980's food based as well as the 1990's both of these decades were big GMO pushes.

The result of this knowledge gained: NEVER TRUST GOV'T when it comes to your life & earnings

Proof they are full of BS. Computer models do not work well and only work as good as the data put into them. The computers have been feed false and defective data. These creature are not only political but they are Compartmentalized and could not integrate new or old knowledge if their life depended upon it.

and an observation I recently read....

Computer models tend to agree with each other because nobody wants their model to be way out of agreement with any other model, so the models are tweaked to keep the output in a narrow "consensus" range... utter scientific hypocrisy, driven by 'follow the money'.

I've been collecting this stuff at http://www.plusaf.com/global-warming/... for years...

      Enjoy!

Thank you plusaf, Now that is Objective observation and investigation. A big part of this whole argument is the history of cycles. If your not willing to start there, you've lost the quest for truth. Look to see what is there, not what you expect, want or are told to see.

I'm amazed at people's capacity to reject facts they don't want to see. I sometimes see it in people facing a grave illness. That's what this is. The current evidence points to bad news that we all wish weren't true. Some of us have an amazing ability to rationalize in the face of the bad news. There's the argument that the research is driven by special interests, which is funny since trillions of dollars of economic activity is fueled by burning stuff. There's the argument that science keeps changing its mind when new evidence appears instead picking a story and sticking to it. Saying that we should pick our desired answer and only look for evidence that supports it is not living in reality. It's amazing that people who generally believe in the concept of using observations and models sometimes reject them completely when the answer is undesirable.
