Time Slimes Ayn Rand as a Fan of Charleston Church Shooter Dylann Roof

I usually can see some thought pattern when someone says something stupid like this but I'm at a loss. I received Ideal the other day and hope to read it soon. Doubt it will make a difference.

I absolutely love it when a Slime Stream Media Trash Printer like Time Magazine quotes a Liberal Non-Person Twit like Anne C. Heller {Who has paid to have her history erased from the web. She's not even in Wikipedia, while claiming to be an Editor and Author} writes extensively about a person and a philosophical subject that she knows nothing about.
An adjunct at Bennington now, she would have been a child when Rand passed: ERGO her writing is based on flawed research and is obviously erroneously conceived.

Isn't there a gap in years between Rand's death and Roof's Birth?

Someone at Time needs to realize it's Time MAGAZINE, not Time Machine...

This is what all the fuss is about. Heller's review of the recent publication od Rand's "Ideal".

I think the MRC intentionally overstated Time's responsibility for actively "sliming" Ayn Rand. They all wish to sell, of course. Time more copy and Heller more of her book on AR. What's new?

I ordered a copy of Ideal and will try to review here the Heller's review of that book.

I guess those people at TIME figure they'll be going under in a few years anyway, so they might as well cash in (sell out) their reputation as the NY Times has done.

Here's the background on Heller. She wrote Ayn Rand and the World She Made, a biography published in 2009. Based on scores of interviews with people who knew Rand (including Nathaniel Branden), reviews of archival materials from Russia and the U.S., it is a non-objectivist view of Rand's life and ideas. Notably, she was denied cooperation by the Ayn Rand Institute. Heller purports to be an admirer of Rand but not an advocate for her ideas. On its face, the biography is quite thorough and well researched and provides many factual insights not found elsewhere.

Interesting. If I am not mistaken Ayn Rand is and has been dead quite a while. How you one be a "fan" of something if they are dead.?

Seems to me the NewYork times is really trying to push their liberal bent on things, and trying to remain relevant in this world. They are failing miserably, or is that failing brilliantly...

Published or unpublished works, Ayn Rand is fiction even though Atlas Shrugged seems to becoming fiction to fact.

Besides copies of the Constitution, Declaration of independence, Federalist Papers, Kennedy's Profiles in Courage, I also have copies of Mein Kampf, Das Kapital, and the Communist Manifesto in my library. I wonder what a liberal flea-brain would make of that?

Without looking further is it the LA Times or the NY Times? Why would I bother reading five pounds of ads with one pound of propaganda? Nothing of value as the name across the tops clearly indicates. What else would one expect? Sorry Comrade Editor I don't serve the party.

How could anyone possibly construe any part of Ayn Rand's body of work as supportive of a racist, and a murderer? "Racism is the lowest form of collectivism." It couldn't be any clearer.

Typical Statist attack on anything or anyone who doesn't fall in behind their scheme.
Sadly, many will believe Ms. Heller's nonsense, for, as Orwell said, “The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it.”

The comment, if true, is so far from what Rand espoused and proved as to make one wonder who in the hell is she talking about. Is it possible to have read the tens of thousands of Rand's words and to so completely misunderstand them that you make such a statement? It's beyond stupid. It is delusional. Or perhaps just the desire to attend cocktail parties with the "in" crowd.

Yes it is possible, unfortunately...liberals refuse to accept the authority of the author in context and word usage (connotation) so they make it up as they go...the same way they try to rule. Pelocy is a good example of this trait.
