contraindications in Atlas Shrugged

Thanks for the welcome guys! I have a question.... are there any contraindications in Atlas Shrugged that any of you know of? I know contraindications don't exist :-) , but I want more opinions. I have listened to the audio book read by Scott Brick over 10 times, and watched the movie 3 times, but this question is concerning the book...

    I have given this some thought, and I honestly can't think of a contradiction. I would be interested to hear if anyone else can think of one.

    In part 3, Galt says to Dagny "Miss Taggert...we have no laws in this valley, no rules, no formal organization of any kind"...But we have certain customs, which we all observe, because they pertain to the things we need to rest from." then 45 pages later Ragnar says of his marriage to Kay " We were married here, by Judge Narragansett."

    Why did they have to be married by a judge? If they had entered into a contract of marriage, why did they need Narragansett's approval? Could they have not posted a copy of the contract on a tree outside of their home? Or in the Gulch Gazette if one existed?
