How A Two Party System Perpetuates Itself and what conditions must exist for a third party to win.

This proposal takes the position the third revolution is over and the forces of left wing fascism have for the moment won. 1776 and 1865 being the other two. I approached it from the viewpoint of a counter-revolution.

The most successful method for two parties to perpetuate is working as a team and becoming, openly or covertly one party. See the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-party_.... While you are at it Duvergers Laws are worth examining . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duverger&#...

"A third party can enter the arena only if it can exploit the mistakes of a pre-existing major party, ultimately at that party's expense. For example, the political chaos in the United States immediately preceding the Civil War allowed the Republican Party to replace the Whig Party as the progressive half of the American political landscape. Loosely united on a platform of country-wide economic reform and federally funded industrialization, the decentralized Whig leadership failed to take a decisive stance on the slavery issue, effectively splitting the party along the Mason-Dixon Line. Southern rural planters, initially lured by the prospect of federal infrastructure and schools, quickly aligned themselves with the pro-slavery Democrats, while urban laborers and professionals in the northern states, threatened by the sudden shift in political and economic power and losing faith in the failing Whig candidates, flocked to the increasingly vocal anti-slavery Republican Party."

Two recent examples would be the Republican Raiders apparently at the behest and with the support of the Democrats joining the Tea Party or Buchanan joining the Populists - and destroying the Third Party.

Instead had the Tea Party joined the Republicans offering numbers at the polls but with the unstated and primary purpose of moving them further to the right and thus toward the center. Away from the current too too cosy relationship with the left wing socialist Democrats, leaving behind the like minded RINOs could they have accomplished the same as the Republican of the 1800s in supplanting the Whigs?

Conditions suited back then to leave the Democrats exposed as supporting slavery, segregation, and anti-civil rights until they too were ejected by the Socialists joining with and taking control of the Democrats The Republicans enjoyed dominance in their anti slavery anti segregation pro civil rights role until conditions suited a move to a one party system. That might have been blocked had the option in the preceding paragraph been chosen. instead of being absorbed. Tea Party certainly attracted the numbers to get the camels nose into the big tent and the make sure there was no room in the tent for left wing fascist socialists.

I use the definition that has the current Republicans as the right wing of the left placing them too the left of the true center- The Constitution. Moving that center to the center of the left is all the socialists had to do back when. The rest was incremental change. Moving the signpost back to the true center is all that needs to be done to leave them exposed with nary a fig leaf in sight.

I've placed a series of posts in the history area for reference purposes all but the last few portions done. the intent of this post is to begin a discussion on how to win an election or be prepared to win an election after the left once again shoots itself in both feet. The final one will be a restatement of some months ago modified by what I learned and applied along the way. and my thanks for those that helped with nudges, suggestions and sometimes cudgels of wisdom.

Phoenix rising from the ashes scenario or before all is ashes. It's the only way I can see making it worth while IF the right individual or a select group lift the edge of the tent fro the inside. it would certainly tip the balance given the numbers of disenfranchised, politically homeless, third party hardys and current vote flushers were all added together with a RINO less GOP- If such a bargain could be struck. The Wicked Witch of the Left has a pocket full of Simon Legrees.
