They trained their replacements flown in from India. When their last day came, they realized Hindi was the main langauge spoken in their building. So from an Objectivist viewpoint, how would you respond?

Delhaize America hired IBM to do the same thing. Outsource as much USA talent as they could to India.

HP did this numerous times to Costa Rica.

The total Irony is when Delhaize did this, and HP did this their customer service went down the crapper two quarters down the road, and for several years to come from angry customers.

Free market baby!!!! Live and Learn. When HP did it I simply went out and found another job. funny thing, My next jobs paid me WAY more.

thanks for commenting. The problem is pretty complicated. 1. it's not just the visas that are the problem 2. we should be able to hire and fire as we see fit in business
If the regulatory and securities laws hadn't screwed everything up so much-there would be great opportunities for displaced highly skilled workers. Instead we are just fighting over the ever-diminishing pie

    "how would you respond"
IMHO the question is loaded because there's nothing new to respond to. It's the same as if someone invented easier software their required fewer IT workers. What should we do? Nothing. (I'm saying this to those who think the question means gov't should *do something*, which is not people here.)

For the company, the employees, and everyone, in a moving economy things are always changing and we always have to be finding new ways to serve customers and solve their problems.
