"The team reports fully restoring the memory function of 75 percent of the mice they tested it on, with zero damage to the surrounding brain tissue. They found that the treated mice displayed improved performance in three memory tasks - a maze, a test to get them to recognise new objects, and one to get them to remember the places they should avoid."

God Bless these researchers! Now THIS is something that desperately needs to be fast tracked. I just hope that when it gets here the FDA doesn't keep in in clinical trials for 30 years.

    This is great news.

It is my hope that even though this won't line the pockets of Big Pharma that it will still get the support and recognition it obviously deserves.

My oldest sister Andrea has Alzheimers. She and her Husband found out about 2 or 3 years ago. So far she can still recognize all of us but we know how that goes. Thanks for the heads up DK, I will pass this link on. They are of course looking at anything that might help.

I appreciate the stress for all involved. my grandfather had it, got it in his 60s. Luckily no one else in my close family has had it. I had thought of jbrenner, who has a parent suffering from it and also a grandparent. There is strong genetic history there. j is working on important projects as well looking into possible cures.
