More than 1/3 the illegal immigrants in the US are in California. The largest ethnic growth in population in California in the past 25 years has been latin-hispanic.
There are consequences of not enforcing immigration laws, and many of the consequences are negative, especially to the existing culture of individual responsibility and liberty.
If immigration laws had been enforced, and the population of California were 25% lower, would there be ANY concern about the drought.
Instead of blaming the culture that existed before, that created the abundance that made California a success, that is now being destroyed by the policy of unlimited immigration, the blame for the crumbling of that infrastructure of success should be on the policies of the overreaching, politically-correct, often unconstitutional non-conservatives making up the ruling elite in New York and Washington DC.

I'm in "WERE ALL GOING TO DIE" Kalifornia. Or have they changed it to "Mexifornia" yet? Whatever, it has been dry here in the Sierra Foothills. Haven't had any snow yet this year. If we don't get any it will be the first time in my 4 years here that we didn't.

Proposals to deal with the shortage include restrictions, and more government spending on supplies with more debt.
About a year ago on here, when discussing the exact same problem, someone,
well it was me actually, suggested trying market solutions.

    Monopoly creates shortage.

Monopoly allows those in power to stay in power and control everyone else. seems standard in Kalifornia. I grew up in San Diego in the late 60's and there was a desalination plant on Point Loma for years trying to get the technology right. On a submarine, you can make thousands of gallons a day with a large compression still. Once fired up, they can be ran for long periods, and I do not believe it is beyond the capability to make them efficient. Too many interests wanting to break the system.
