This whole notion of a progressive tax system is completely outdated and proven insufficient toward economic growth. It's time to end the entire concept.
Not only that, but also the progressive tax system is unfair for precisely the reasons that it is touted to be fair. We have all heard the Marxist line about "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". The progressive tax system is arguably even worse because it embodies "From each according to his PRODUCTION, to each according to his need". This needs to be attacked at its immoral fundamental premise.
Interesting change. I could have great ability, but decline to use it; I could have little ability but work my butt off.
So what you are saying is that, in essence, the IRS uses the same metric we do: what you DO as opposed to what you 'say' or what you 'could do'. I think the IRS has missed a bet: they could have dinged people for their ability or their production, whichever is greater.
If this was a non-Democrat administration and a Democrat con-gress this would be enough to impeach and replace the president. Since con-gress is controlled by unprincipled, weak willed, spineless Republicans, and since trading a racist, lying scumbag for a lecherous, lying scumbag is no improvement, I predict that someone akin to Janet reno will 'take responsibility', suffer no significant punishment, and receive multi million dollar annual pay employment at Goldman Sachs.
I totally agree about congress being controlled, but not by the spineless repubs. In fact, when you think about it, I also agree that they are both weak and spineless, and therefore, there's no way they can control anything ~ no backbone to enforce anything.
Aside from that, I agree with the rest of your narrative.
A progressive income tax is a socialist measure imposed by the first democrat president who helped Communism. FDR made it much worse and now Obama is cementing the control of the central government against the dictates of the Constitution and the desires of the Founding Fathers.
The newest update here is that the IRS is saying the old emails are in a different format, so they can't be read. This is criminal contempt. Anyone with a basic understanding of computers knows that emails are not stored on a hard drive of a pc. They remain on a server. I'm so disappointed in Chavits that he let this charade go on as long as it has. My 12 year old could have "recovered" those emails with a chromebook and Lois' password.
Thanks. Been a Gulcher in spirit for a long time, but just found the virtual gulch. Read Atlas for the first time in 9th grade, and re-read it at least once a year.
Years ago this would have been a shocker... We have become immune to the ridiculous, to the absurd, to the incredible. Our ambassador gets massacred while pleading for help and it is nothing more than an unfortunate happening. The reality is covered up by falsehoods, i.e. lies and, AND YET, the people believe, want to believe, the explanations they are given by their government. They cannot fathom that deception is a primary tool used by Washington to control and confuse. Here again, we find more of the same with the IRS debacle. No honor, no truth. Nothing is clean about any of this. It's just downright dirty- all of it.
What scares me is the IT cats who said they were never asked, certainly knew of the investigations, hearings, and news reports, but never said a word, never stepped forward and said, "Hey, we have tapes!". Fire them also.
I work in IT, and it is very common for IT to only know what the business tells them. I wouldn't be quite so quick to condemn them without giving them a hearing.
Both Congress and the Senate and both sides all look like a bunch of 5 year olds crying because some bully stole their milk money. No teeth in the rule of law and being made fools of at every step.
The IRS is a den of thieves (and liars). Support The Fair Tax, for a much more honest and transparent form of taxation, and watch tax rates suddenly drop because politicians will be exposed.
Name it a flat tax.. fair tax is an oxymoron and it's sounds like something a leftist would name something to be intentionally misleading. We're better than name games. Hell...just name it "theft lite".
Is Lois safe? After all the AG got away with gun running and the big guy with violating the Constitution. Simple just have her picked up on Suspicion of Terrorism and there's no need for any of that pesky civil rights crap. Then Desaparecido.
fify...
