I'm new to the Gulch and have never posted here before. I was actually introduced to it after I contacted the Atlas Shrugged site and one of the workers there told me to post this video here.

He actually said, "Thanks for the link - this was an interesting video. I believe this would be a great topic to share in Galt’s Gulch Online."

Anyway, I'm also a big privacy rights advocate and the other night a friend sent me this awesome video on ECPA. If you don't know what that is, then you need to watch this video.

Here's the link: http://youtu.be/a7QQMf_5HUI

The Electronic Frontier Foundation just covered the story as well... so that's pretty cool!

I hope you guys enjoy and I'm looking forward to joining the community here!

Best,
Regine

I remember reading about this at age 11 in Popular Communications. That magazine saw it as mobile phone companies wanting to advertise they were private while carrying calls on analog FM carriers that were very easy to monitor. They put them in what had been the upper channels of the UHF TV band. I've never heard of someone listening to analog phone calls with a TV, but I'm sure it's possible. It was very simple to do with a scanner.

No one was thinking about remote servers. The pendulum was swinging away from mainframes to desktop computers,
