Mars One: 'We're all going to die, but it's important what you do before you die'
"Mars One, a group that plans to send humans on a one-way trip to Mars, has announced its final 100 candidates. They have been selected from 200,000 applicants and will go on to further testing later this year, which they expect to include team-building exercises and later, isolation."
“Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.” ~ Ernest Hemmingway
This event strikes me as a glorious way to go.

I love the dream, but I think this is a dream without a complete plan. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they get together the means of getting people, habitats, and supplies to Mars.
I would like to see someone do the same thing but with more people and locate it on an inhospitable place on Earth. It could be a mountain, remote desert, arctic location, or under water. The purpose would be not exploration but an objectivist business incubator, conference center, and resort-- the beginnings of a veritable "Gulch".
