Johnpe1, I'm very glad you posted this. My next novel has a substantial section on Vietnam, and I need to talk to veterans who were actually there. If any of the Gulch's Vietnam vets would be willing to talk to me about their experiences, it would be tremendously helpful. The first five that volunteer get a signed copy of The Golden Pinnacle, my most recent novel. I mostly want to ask questions about the real life details of life in the military in Vietnam. We can arrange phone conversations or email exchanges, whatever you prefer.
RG, I was in Thailand from Nov 72 to June 73 and repaired/prepared bufs and tanks there. . my brother- in-law was on the ground in nam and might be willing to work with you;;; he's a fine fellow, carried a gun there and survived. . I will ask him. -- j
I hope it plays near me. I would like to see it. I never heard 'welcome home' until I saw Gen. Tommy Franks a few years ago. Welcome home all Viet Nam era vets.
I flew over nam twice, going to and coming back from U Tapao Royal Thai Naval Air Base in Thailand for usaf duty. . . killing ground. . . 53,000 lost . . . -- j
