Ironically, after the blood and tears to break down segregation in this country, there are black power brokers vigorously re-segregating the races again. Black student groups are petitioning colleges to create black only dormitories, and have succeeded in some states.

The sad reality is that if racial tensions disappeared overnight, the Jacksons and Sharptons would be without a job, so it's in the interest of them and race-baiting politicians to sabotage any effort to create racial polity. The same applies to any real effort to eliminate class envy. The reality is that the U.S. remains the most economically mobile society on the planet, with entrepreneurs of all races moving up the economic ladder (and down, when they fail) more freely than at any other time in history, and yet to listen to the "progressive" propaganda, all American whites are racist fiends that act aggressively to keep the "inferior" races oppressed.

At least, NBC's five loyal viewers will have a non-traumatic (read: guilt free) choice!

What language will it be broadcast in?

I can't believe we continue to make the race distinction, and further the issue.

back in the 60's i believe some of the blacks who were the most vocal about how badly blacks were treated in the USA wanted to be given 3 states to live in. maybe there are some who remember more than i do. anyway maybe nbc news thinks that it is now an idea whose time has come. they obviously want to separate the races. next we will have a puerto rican station and then a chinese station and so on. segmenting the country is the way to go they seem to THINK? i wonder if they ever do.

This reminds of a "Black Corrections Officers" something for a club that my black brother officers started to put together at a state prison I used to work at. (Think it fizzled out).
I was tempted to ask how they would feel about the forming up of a "White Corrections Officers something."
I decided to keep my mouth shut. The motivation was needing all officers to watch my back so I could make it to the retirement I now enjoy.

I have been around for over 6 decades...and I have never seen racial tensions as tempered as they are today. Each day seems to bring a new level of segregation.

It looks to me that the intention was to make blacks feel more important, to give them stories more concentrated from a black perspective, without having to balance it with political correctness toward whites and to reinforce black memes in a protected environment.

Sadly, the seeds of a sense of black superiority are already in place. Tribalism is a stronger drive than individualism. Emphasizing tribal divisions will set back the cause of integration and assimilation, perhaps beyond repair. No group with ascending powers will willingly relinquish its advantage.

But perhaps I'm pessimistic. Walter Williams, black economist, bespeaks lucid and rational values for blacks about responsibility and productiveness. Maybe black news will not advocate for welfare mooching and reparations from the white population. And it will probably make interesting reading for whites.

I do profoundly hope that it will not lead to social unrest and divisiveness. More than ever we need to emphasize the importance of the individual as the smallest minority, and the elimination of the "us versus them" mentality.

Blacks should be insulted by this. Is NBC saying blacks are too stupid to understand the "regular" news stories? Maybe they think they don't care about issues the rest of us care about. Could they be saying that the stories on NBCBlk aren't important enough to make the "regular" news?

Since the USA is often described as a "Christian Nation," is there a need for greater segregation? Should one demand a Jewish version (JNBC) or a Hindu version (HNBC) -- well, you get the idea. What would be the criteria for the need for differences? How about yellow skinned Asians (ANBC) ? Skin color, religion, political philosophy? An Objectivist version (ONBC)? Then you could divide the divisions into the different parts of the divisions, such as Catholics (CNBC) divided into Orthodox Catholic (OCNBC) This opens a whole world of divide and conquer. Yummy.
