When you are in hollywood, everything is seen as being a 'statement'. People today are also conditioned to think that every 'modern' story is about making a statement. No one seems to get that sometimes a story is just a story. It can show the good and the bad and give you a feel for what the time, place event was... But the 'statement' it makes is your own, created by your own prejudices, worldview and ideas impacting your viewing of the piece.

They also do not understand that some people are sick to death of the continual bombardment of political agendas and political messages.

I do not consider it either a coincidence or odd that movies that are not trying to hammer a political cause do very well at the box office.

If I plunk down my money for entertainment, that is what I am looking for, entertainment.
