This is a really comprehensive article that basically goes into why We The People are really hosed because Congress is never going to call a Constitutional Convention.

    I didn't think congress could call a cc. Only the states can in my understanding.

      That's one of the things the article goes into depth about - that according to the way things are currently written the States can NOT call for a CC except through Congress. I think it is an oversight of potentially vast consequences.

    It is not a Constitutional Convention, but a Convention for the purpose of proposing amendments. The only Constitutional Convention was in 1787.

    I do not understand why people call an Article V Convention a Constitutional Convention.

      Probably because it sounds better. I wish I were kidding, but so much of politics is in marketing. And I have to agree - "Constitutional Convention" is a better marketing slogan than "Article V Convention"...
