- 2Posted by $ Commander 9 years, 3 months agoI was talking with my butcher yesterday, while eyeing a beautifully cut rib-eye, marked at $13.98 per lb. This was marked down $5 per lb in order to "move" it out of the store. Direct effect of fuel / feed competition in the market is driving prices up substantively for ranchers.
