Wyoming Sheriffs Preparing for War?

Wyoming has one of the lowest rates of violent crime in the nation (kind of ironic since I'm betting they have one of the highest rates of gun ownership). Wyoming sheriffs definitely need MRAPs. Ironically, my understanding of the MRAP is that it actually is not an effective off-road vehicle due to its weight. Which is why the Army is the procurement process for a lighter version. I would think that "off-road" is something Wyoming sheriffs need to do on occasion.
This article was actually posted by Craig Johnson on Facebook. Craig is the bestselling author of the Longmire series of mysteries starring a Wyoming sheriff named Longmire. Also the hit tv series, formerly on A&E and soon to be a Netflix exclusive, is based on his characters and books. Walt Longmire would definitely not use an MRAP. More likely to use a horse (probably more practical as well).

My wife bought me a first edition of the first "Sheriff of Absaroka County" novel -- and a Sheriff's coffee cup to go with it. Apparently, Craig Johnson did a book signing at Aunt Agatha's in Ann Arbor some years back.
