Does treating Ebola patients make the doctors/nurses crazy?

In recent days we have seen reports on 2 health "professionals" returning from Africa after treating Ebola patients. Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox returned and refused to be quarrantined saying,“You know, I don’t plan on sticking to the guidelines.” and "I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me." See:

Dr. Craig Spencer returned from treating Ebola patients in Africa and reportedly lied to police about maintaining quanantine, telling the truth of his carousing all over NYC sharing cabs and using the subway only after being pressed for details. See:

It appears that these supposed medical professionals have little regard for the responsibility they have to the rest of the human race in the United States.

Should we trust anyone who has been to Africa and treated Ebola patients to think rationally? Did they ever have any ability to think rationally or has their experience in Africa driven them to insanity?

I’m more concerned about how the police knew the NYC doctor was lying to them about his where-a-bouts. Do you know? Apparently, they confronted him with receipts of his spending. That tells me they violated this man’s privacy. What law did they rely on for that? Should they have obtained a warrant? Who signed off on that if they did obtain one? Why is there no information on it? Is the lack of information because we are behaving so alarmed over ebola scares that we aren’t paying attention? How would you feel if one person came in contact with ebola and the authorities decided to shutdown your entire block and make everyone stay indoors. Isn’t that what the nurse is standing up to? Scrap the science; let's play it safe. All this fear being bantered about will lead authorities to violate our rights (for our own good, of course.) Isn’t that the way it usually works?
Can we trust anyone in this country to apply a little common sense. The only ones to have been affected and infected by ebola are those that actually came in contact with body fluids, specifically blood and urine--not from riding a subway, or sharing a bowling ball or even from being within sneezing or hugging distance.

You have some really good points. Everything is a distraction from reality for this administration. It may be that they are lying about how it get transmitted and the full body suits are not needed by anyone that is not directly cleaning up after an infected person. Had not thought of that angle.

      Good questions.
If the public is not trusted with the truth, how can they/we decide the appropriate action? They can't, and are inclined to follow orders out of fear of the unknown.
Do the doctors mentioned have more accurate information, or are they acting inappropriately and irrationally?
The internet is available to them. If they want to be believed then they should use it and publicize the scientific reasons for their actions, since apparently the authorities will not.

They(the doctors) are fine. If the first victim who was sent home for three days with a raging fever hasn’t taught us anything about how difficult it is to transmit this without psychically touching something soiled by fluids then nothing will. The first victim infected no one but the two nurses that handled him.

Personally, I don’t think the public should even know anything about this nurse in Maine. She treated Ebloa. So what? Is she sick? No...

You know what this is? This is a giant diversion squirrel to keep people from being concerned with Obama, Holder or Reid, or any of the rest of the progressive stinkbugs just days before an election.
        People need to focus.

You may be right about it being a distraction, but focus on a rigged election? Except for Ron Paul there hasn't been a non-party-controlled candidate for national office since 92.
Voting is a waste of time. Nothing changes without real action outside the political process.
I predict that R's win both houses and they barely amend Oprahmacare and claim the president/dems were just too strong to do anything more. Bankster puppets and traitors to their oaths. In fact the only oaths that they care about is calling other pols chickens#it (and that is definitely a BS distraction.)
