Holy damn. Back to 7th grade? Blech. Some songs just shouldn't be played ever again. haha. I think that applies to any song in which you happened to be in 7th grade at the time.
Last Wednesday night I saw Ringo Starr and his All-Star band. In addition to Ringo's hits both with the Beatles and without, his band played songs from each of their members by Toto, Mister Mister, Santana, and Todd Rundgren. Not exactly Richard Halley, but it was a lot of fun.
There were three of Todd Rundgren's songs, the most famous of which was "I Don't Want to Work, I Just Want to Bang on the Drums All Day". Kind of appropriate for a musician who shrugs.
Both REO Speedwagon and Styx came near me about a year ago as well. The lead singer from Styx was one of my role models when I started my band in the early 1980s. But I'll "take it on the run, baby" with REO Speedwagon, too.
And there ain't no brontosaurs. Around 1980 it was discovered that goofy scientists put the wrong long-necker fossil head on the wrong long-necker. Maybe some of those head switchers had kids who grew up to be global warming government grant hustlers. .
