It really pisses people off that we independent thinkers are never offended by anyone but always offend. They think they have the same power over us as we them. But they are to ignorant to understand that being offended is something you allow others to do to you.

If I don't offend at least two people, it hasn't been a good day.

I like the first one, but love anything cat. Cats are the original independent thinkers. They know just how much to give to get the dish of food or pet on the head - at their timing.
As to the first, why does it matter who we offend? The question is why does such a large percentage of the population seem to have persecution complexes? They are offended by every other thing they see or hear. Why are they so weak, or are they really controlling, via pseudo offenses? Get the government out of it, in any case.

The attitude you recommend is closely related to not accepting unearned guilt. But not to care at all how others feel in response to words or actions of ours treads dangerously close to sociopathy rather than fair-minded independence. Once past the initial humor of this post, it made me think a little deeper about longer-range consequences of putting others down. It's the missing other half of the prime directive, "...nor ask another to live for mine."

I wish I had a sister like that. Luckily, my wife is more verbal than physical. Keeps us out of jail. (So far.)
