A thank you from Obama to an Oklahoma Mosque

There is no end in sight to the blatant disrespect the inhabitant of the White House has for our country, and the people within it. Other than his cadre of crony lapdogs and incompetents.

He really has no moral or ethical code when it comes to those who truly wish the demise I our country. The fact that the thought even occurred to that rotted little brain that this would be a proper and wise thing to do, defies all logic. It is nauseating to me that he sits in the White House, and holds the freedoms, our Constitution, and all things that are the lifeblood if this nation, in the most despised contempt. The toad must be given the short stick in the November elections, or there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of turning back the tide of his annihilation strategy.

In politics the candidate wants us to judge them by what they say. This results in telling the Latinos what they want to hear, same for the women, gays, youth, poor, etc. It results in the many flip flops we have all seen.

In life, I judge people by what they do, not what they say. We know Obama is anti
American, he has been raised in that fashion his entire life. In my judgment he is one of them. He wants the middle east to be completely fractured, allowing it to reform in new alliances with boundaries not akin to the ones established by Empirical Britain for her colonies.

This results in telegraphing strategies so they can get out of the way, half hearted aerial sorties that show we have air power but don't use it well and it's in effective against the ISIS soldier. His gifted vice President busies himself pissing off neighboring nations that should have a dog in this fight.

In my opinion you would have to be very charitable to consider this all accidental...coincidence. It's on purpose, creating a power vacuum by "leading from behind" We call that following in Ohio!

"“I observed the teachings of Islam […] to the public, the mosque will not promote terrorism or any kind of radical acts, but when they’re among friends and congregants only, they will promote the true teachings of Islam, which include the offer to non-Muslims – the choice, rather – that you must convert, live under Islamic rule or be fought against,” he said."

This is exactly what my Iraqi friend, who is a Christian by the way, said to me. She said NEVER EVER allow yourself to be taken in by the platitudes offered to non believers, (infidels). They are just a ruse. The real agenda is conversion or death. THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND. These are her words, not some spin put out by the msm.

'DHS Center for Faith-based & Neighborhood Partnerships'. Why is this a part of DHS in the first place? Is it any wonder than all the agencies sucked up under this useless agency have low moral, low performance and are totally ineffective? odipshit demonstrates his contempt for this country daily and he's getting away with it. The only thing he likes about America is the abundance of gold courses.

I’m completely perplexed by his behavior. All his actions suggest he is helping the other *team*. It’s almost like he intentionally executes these major blunders on purpose. It’s almost like he is purposely going after our nation's morale. I’m trying not to let it get me down or bother me in my personal life, but he’s really affecting me in a negative way.

That he is a faux Christian can no longer be denied. He was raised a Muslim and indeed is a Muslim. The fact that he went to that phoney-baloney, anti-American church for 20 years doesn't mitigate a thing. To make things worse, he is a militant Muslim. The enemy is not at the gates, it's within the gates, running the show. This could not be more of a horrors story than if it was written by Bram Stoker.

This is wonderful. The association of 'the mosque' with the hometown atrocity of 'the beheading' is the sort of news that can disenchant the public from their affection for Obama. Already his popularity has dropped significantly - this should see it fall another point or so.

The article is hard to follow. They're saying President Obama sent a special thank-you to a mosque who's member committed a heinous murder. But isn't it saying the thank-you came before the crime and wasn't related to the crime?

I voted for President Obama because I thought he would promote pluralism, and I think he's following through with that by reaching out all faiths. I'm confused if this article is implying he sent the thank-you but ignored the controversial issue of one of their members committing a heinous murder.

He sent the special thank-you recently for the mosque's efforts in helping the community after the Moore tornado. It’s more or less a way to booster the morale of the mosque because they are taking a lot of heat from the community because of the beheading. You would have learned that if you had linked to the original article about the ‘thank-you.’found within the opening paragraph of this story.

Thanks for explaining that so clearly. I just followed the link as you suggested. It was much clearer. It seems like this article re-wrote it trying to make it sounds scary.

But CG, it is very scary. Think about it. What’s different from this situation then Fergusen? In Oklahoma, there is an entire community frustrated and completely outraged over what appears to be a senseless murder which might have been spurred on by whatever is going on behind closed doors at this mosque. There certainly enough evidence of prior incidents and concerns to indicate a need to investigate. Where is the President’s reasoned empathy for the non-muslim community? Why isn’t he appreciating the pain many are feeling over the loss of this grandmother? What a gruesome way to go. Where is the Justice Department’s scrutiny, or at the very least, couldn't the IRS could take a look at the mosque's tax-exempt status? What he did with this thank-you note is throw salt in the wounds of non-muslims who currently and passionately feel victimized by his lack of empathy, and..oh..a beheading on american shores in broad daylight in the name of Allah. Who cares if he was mental. We need acknowledgement from leaders that they understand our fears.
And think about this: look at how fast General Petraeus and Julia Pierson were out of a job when the President was personally affronted, but he has done nothing to protect the American people who have had their cage rattled by Loius Lerner over the IRS scandal, Eric Holder over... (gosh so many: which one shall I use?) um... a death of a border agent because of Fast and Furious, Kathleen Seblius over the Health Care website fiasco. (did we ever get a dollar figure for that mess?) or even Hilary Clinton for failing to protect Ambassador Stevens, the first ambassador to be killed since Carter’s presidency?
This President scares me. President Carter was bad, but I never questioned his loyalty. You need open your eyes. There is something seriously wrong with how President Obama manages our affairs.

When I put myself in their shoes, I imagine someone from my UU congregation committing some ghastly murder and the entire town thinking maybe we condone murder. It would be especially bad if we were a group whose kids extremists target. What a powerful thing for the POTUS to send his support to our congregation. It sends a message to kids caught between two cultures about what America is about. That makes it that much harder for extremists to sell their group identity politics narrative.

Haha, CG. Plu-leze. Nothing in the UU doctrine suggests anybody should be treated as the enemy, an outsider, the infidel.

The mosque was precisely where this nutcase got his teachings. I'm more than happy to defend people who denounce such practices, but in absence of these declarations - which should have been immediate - I'm not going to take their side.

I agree that any action taken by the President is powerful, but shouldn't that action have been taken to confirm the abhorrence of this act - not as a consolation to the source of the ideology?

He made a huge misstep here. Renouncing the heinous act of beheading a person just going through their day at work should have been PARAMOUNT. A thank you really is, not to beat around the bush, despicable. Why was it done at all? Was it such a necessity to stroke the ego of the imam and his cadre of followers? This president has his priorities so skewed even the mad hatter couldn't make sense of them.

It has had ties to terrorist groups for for more than just this year. That's a very naive viewpoint you are starting from. It stated that with crystalline clarity in aforementioned article.
And I am truly disgusted in your choice of president. He is repugnant and the antithesis of liberty.

And you think pluralism, ie moral relativism, is a positive thing? Rules that change according to the dictator's whim. Special favors for the friends of the elite? Business bailouts for power? That's what you are willing to vote for?

        Pluralism is not moral relativism.

It absolutely is. It says that there is no moral system better than any other. It gives the same credence to capitalism as it does to communism - democracy to monarchy or theocracy. Pluralism places no emphasis on looking to improve society because it places the need for multiple lines of thought as a higher prerogative. It is Affirmative Action in politics.
