Just saw ASIII

Let me start out by saying, I absolutely love Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. The book is wonderful and well-written. I also love the other two movies. So, naturally, I've been counting down until Part 3 came out; I even bought my ticket ahead of time because I was so excited. And then I saw the movie. While it did get the political message across and the Dagny and John love story was believable, overall, it was awful. The casting was horrendous because 1) Ragnar, John, and Francisco are supposed to be the same age, but Francisco looks way older then the other two, 2) since Francisco looks older, the Francisco/Dagny relationship now feels creepy, and 3) Where was Hank Rearden?? He is a major part of Part 3, but he never showed up. He was just talked about. The organization of the movie was a mess with an out-of-place voiceover and random news bits that pulled you out of the story. It was obvious what the focus was, and the political message came across well. However, Atlas Shrugged, while the book is mainly political, had a storyline with love, mystery, drama, action, AND poiltics. The movie was so bad; it almost felt satirical.

I really wanted it to be good. I had high hopes, but sadly, this movie failed.
