Plans to stop Russia show NATO and the West are in denial

Opinions being what they are, I found this cogent if only because I agree with it. That said, I am not sure that "stopping Putin" is important at all. As the author, Masha Gessen, admits, it is possible that no good outcomes are attainable, only worse or less bad.

    After six years of the United States being undermined from within, including its military being decimated, Mr. Putin knows that he is unopposed in reuniting the Soviet Union. It is my prediction that this is only the first step in that plan. My heart goes out for those people who are being assimilated as we stand by and watch.

    I believe it was Joe Biden who was in Poland earlier this year to reinforce the US support of Poland's defense. God help them.
