Arapio has balls of brass. As usual, he's telling the truth in a forceful way and damn the consequences. If we only had a few of him in Washington. Even those opposed to the Obama Regime in D.C. couch their criticisms in polite language. If they don't the Washington insiders condemn them as crude, rude and unamerican. Arapio speaks the kind of language that we understand, truth and to the point.

Sheriff Joe is the real thing. I used to live in Phoenix and gladly voted for him when I was there. He is a straight shooter and tells it like it is. As for the article close where they say he is a scammer, well that is the famous AZ Republic, liberal rag.

I recall Princess Pelosi happily calling that disaster for a human flood of illegal aliens an "opportunity." An opportunity for what? Creating new Democrat voters down the line? To Cloward and Piven overwhelm the system?
Whatever that screw-head politically likes is bad for America. Same goes for our conniving when not golfing Liar-In-Chief who opened the floodgates.

the real problem is the very fact that the employees of the government known as border patrol agents are NOT doing their job but instead are cowtowing to 0. these bpa's should tell him that they have a job to do andf if he doesn't like the way they are doing it he can do it him self. pipe dream on my part. it is very, very clear that not one employee of the government will stand up to this guy except this sheriff.

I would like to see numbers. How many "illegals" has his department arrested, how many were convicted felons, and how many did "Obama" release?

If he is correct he makes an excellent point, but as quoted, it's just a bald statement of the sort fairly common to the speaker.

I asked if your eyes were open, Dave, because it seems absurd to me to think that with all the illegals, the undocumented coming across the borders. that there isn't a great number of them who pose a threat. Even a few of them would be a threat.

No doubt the same with any group of people, including immigrants, lawful or otherwise.

The United States has, to my knowledge, the longest unguarded border on Earth--with Canada. I'm sure Canada has as many criminals and convicted felons as any other country, and certainly there are many who wander in and out of this country as they wish.

I have yet to see a call for a border fence with Canada, or so much as a single comment about "the threat from the north". That has always seemed to me to be very odd. Are there no Canadians (or people who enter this country through Canada) who "pose a threat?

Illegal immigration has been around for as long as there have been nations with borders, the U.S. certainly among them. I can recall when alarmists during the 80s spoke of an "invasion from the South" during the various Central American civil wars of the time. Millions of people were supposedly going to flood across the borders and somehow overwhelm the country.

We're still here. The country has major problems but I really don't think we can blame any of them on other countries or their people.

As to the Canadian border being as a great a threat as our southern border--Think about what you are saying. 1-Canada is not a poor country, and immigrants are not as attracted to the US therefore. 2-Mexico and South and Central America are not only much less wealthy than the US, but they are home to very brutal organizations--the drug cartels, which, I imagine is easily penetrable by "undesirables". Your argument just doesn't compute.

There are plenty of drugs brought into this country through Canada (for that matter, during Prohibition, it was the major source of illegal alcohol--no one advocated putting up a fence then). Thanks to high taxes, many Canadians do everything in their power to make "unofficial" income or to purchase items in the U.S. and basically smuggle them home. That includes working in the United States. Certainly logging crews and other concerns around here don't ask where someone comes from, only if they can do the job. And if they want to be paid in cash, so be it.

Indeed, there is a fairly long list of business in this area that provide "unofficial" jobs. More power to them. I must say, however, that I have not noticed any Spanish-speakers in this area. A few years ago, a Mexican restaurant was raided and several employees deported, that's the only incident I know of. Note the word EMPLOYEES.

I can't imagine why anyone employed by a drug cartel or any form of organized crime would want to relocate. No doubt as far as finances are concerned, they are doing far better than they could anywhere else. Indeed, chances are that the street-corner drug dealers in my home area are making far more money than anyone who is gainfully employed. That is, however, a separate issue.

At any rate, there I shall leave it alone. If anyone can rebut what I have said rationally, to coin a phrase, I will happily hear them out.

You really have to think in terms of proportions here. Sure it happens with Canada, but it happens so much more with Mexico, Central and South America. Drug Cartels don't relocate, of course. They move things into the U S. But the "undesirables"--use your imagination here, do relocate. I think you have a pollyanna attitude towards this whole problem. Or maybe you think it will just go away on its own.

Those raids you speak of happen daily here in Arizona. Father, drop-houses with 50-100 illegal packed into a 1600sq ft home are found regularly. Teams of mexican illegals dressed as Phone ix SWAT members have been known to assassinate people and confront our police. I dare say, with every degree of confidence, that the Southern border is by far the more dangerous threat to me, mine, America and her culture.

I and everyone I know, literally, has some tragedy or horror story related to the illegal alien problem here in Phoenix.

While Sheriff Joe doesn't go into detail in this statement he certainly is the right person to know exactly what he's talking about with regard to illegal aliens and the Oministration shirking the law for a political agenda. I'm sure if you look you'll find teh numbers you seek. I trust Sheriff Joe, I don't remotely trust the fedgOv in its current cOnfiguration.

I keep thinking of his "tent city jail" and how he likes to show it off. I've seen several clips of him speaking with inmates and saying something like: "well, you shouldn't have done what you did to get here". Again, a good point, if true.

However, many (the majority in some states), jail inmates are locked up because they have been accused of a crime, could not make bail, and are on a waiting list for a public defender. As far as the law is concerned, whether they "did" anything has not been determined.

I do not know how long the waiting list is for a public defender. In a number of states it is a year or more. If nothing else, it certainly does not seem cost-effective to keep anyone imprisoned for that long while awaiting trial. There's a case by case factor here of course, but overall....the usual result is a plea and a sentence of "time served" which is often more than an imposed sentence would have been.

I know Sheriff Joe runs his jail on the cheap, but it would be a lot cheaper with fewer inmates in it.

I would like to see the numbers and REAL data also - especially criminal illegal aliens.
I am not too concerned about other foreigners who come here to work and live - except for the load it can take on our welfare state (a strange reason to restrict someones freedom).

Good luck. I trust Sheriff Joe. He's been doing his lawful duty for a great many years and knows the score. There has been a concerted effort by both parties to skew the statistics.

From all that I have heard - the County, State, and even the country is lucky to have Sheriff Joe. I admire the guy for actually doing the job and enforcing the law, I hope he inspires other law enforcement personnel, and the people who vote for / influence them.

About a year ago, it occurred to me that when Eddie Willers finds himself all alone on the broken-down Taggart Comet, he would be in Maricopa County, Arizona, or no further away than the next county. And I always figured Sheriff Joe would take John Galt's advice and declare his county a Washington-free zone. And in that case he might send a posse out to fetch Eddie in, after that wagon train blundered in and the conductor of the Comet told him what happened.

He's under near-constant threat of assassination and continual harassment from the Oministration.

He has investigated with professionals and concluded that O's birth certificate is a fraud.

Arapio is the real deal...its shame he's in the sunset of his life or I''d vote him governor of Arizona (and he'd win in a landslide).
