More evidence that no one has a clue what is going on, and Al Gore was just riding the money pony. Sad thing is this also muddys the water for the fact that somne form of climate change is happening, whether permenant or not. Ask the people in CA and the midwest who have no water. It is a very complex and volatile system, not just this or that that impacts things.

"A global warming hiatus" well maybe there's a certain volcano in Iceland that will obliterate euro's largest glacier and bring sweet Al the dear centigrade's he so needs.

I wish he could have pulled a cameo on ASIII as the ultimate looter. Snl cannot imitate him enough.

    Here's to another great day!

Given Gore's history (he is a politician and consumate looter), why is any of this unexpected?
Anyone else expect Gore to invest the money in a scheme to promote fear of an ice age?

Ask the people in CA and the midwest who have no water

    You confuse "weather" with "climate".

Didn't Arizona just have a flood? And we're doing just fine with our water supply, here...

The article starts questioning Gore's business deal but moves immediately to denying science in away that people with even a basic knowledge of geology can see through.

Oh, really? How does it "deny science"?

Science doesn't mean, "the doubletalk that leftists pretend is science to promote their human-enslaving, Earth-worshiping agenda."

They quoted scientists. How is that denying science? For years scientists that found evidence that global warming didn't exist were harassed and forced to keep quiet. Finally they have stepped forward to set the record straight.

Global warming clearly does exist. We've been in a period of declaciation (warming) for 15,000 years. The deglaciation has accelerated with the increase in greenhouse gas emissions. The evidence that gases are part of the *cause* of the warming is getting stronger. The preponderance of the evidence is it is causal and the effects will incur a cost for many humans.

Contrary to what the author says, the deglaciation continues, as it has for the past 15,000 years. The author alludes to a possible return toward a period of increasing glaciation within the current ice age (which the author colloquially calls "another ice age"). I am not knowledgeable about what causes the cycle of glacial minima and maxima within the current ice age, but I would be thrilled to hear that the pendulum is shifting back at the same time emissions are keeping the heat in, resulting in a stable climate for the next 100 years or so. I would also be thrilled to learn that CO2 emissions don't hold in heat as much as we thought.

In any case, I believe within 100 years we'll be able to mold the Earth's climate to human needs. We'll abandon the idea of returning to a supposed pristine pre-human nature. We'll abandon the idea there was something sacred to the glacial minima/maxima cycle that existed before the industrial revolution.

It seems to me the stuff I just said scares people because the costs/benefits to climate change will be enormous. They just bury their heads in sand and deny even the most obvious fact that we're in a period of deglaciation now and the fact that world's climate in the past has seen periods of no ice on the poles and of glaciation of most or all of the planet.
