When I'm not busy building the Gulch, I build mobile apps. I've actually received two "Staff Pick" awards from Apple believe it or not. This particular app has over 1 million users and is consistently rated 5 stars.

It's a simple unit conversion calculator, but don't let the simplicity fool you. This $0.99 app will change your life.

No. It really won't. But, it's still pretty good. :)

Thanks Tech. Users have been writing in about it. I've seen reports coming in about it on a couple of my other apps as well. Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling?

    Hi Scott,

Long time. Just dropping you a line to let you know that the latest update to iOS has broken this app. It no longer loads. The load screens comes up, says loading, and promptly crashes.

Crashes on my IPad. Still works on my IPhone for some reason, but not the tablet. First problem it has given me since you released it, so job well done.

Here in Nine Mile Falls there is a little partially enclosed vegetable stand along the highway. It is only manned and operates on Thursdays by some young Mennonites from over the hill in the valley. They use an old converter that changes vegetables to currency. It is composed of a wooden pencil and a piece of paper, to add up your purchases. The youngest young man always does it entirely in his head. Then the money goes in a little wooden box. The fruits and vegetables they grow even taste so much better than those from the big market that are passed through a scanner for the conversion.

I don't have an iPhone either and my Android is still on my credenza with a dead battery. For those iPhone/Android illiterates, like me, I use this little converter that works on that old technology that was called a PC. Today PC means something else entirely. http://wscope.com/convert.htm

    Dear sdesapio
I can't yet vote or contact and I wanted to thank you for this. It's great and just exactly what I need for changing conversions ESPECIALLY for food tracking - great little app.
    Thanks again
    kindest regards

I like this app a lot! Thanks Scoft! That is very clever and convenient that you instantly give the conversion for every possible unit. Great job!

I have MANY conversion programs, but this one is OUTSTANDING! Most importantly, I feel I must support those on The Gulch. Thank you Scott.

I find it handy in the kitchen. I'm kinda new to the whole "make your own rather than buy a jar of it" thing in the kitchen, and it sure helps when you're thinking, "Wait...how many tablespoons in a gallon???"!

By chance I happen to be creating an app to act as a remote control for a product. The UI was sort of afterthought. I realize after experimenting with it that making it look cool is not trivial. I have a new appreciation for good-looking apps like this one.

If you knew how this tool's utility will increase my productivity, you'd know no thanks are necessary...

    --grins--

BTW, we had a "fire drill" from our HQ - they needed our generated waste totals for our last FY in Cubic Yards... and my records were in everything from lbs of lead to 55 gallon barrels to cubic inches... And the app literally saved my butt, and got us in way ahead of the other 11 districts. We showed them just what a -real- producer is capable of, and I have to credit this app for that... So it is -I- who thanks -you- for this.

Scott: I will find this extremely handy since my work shifts from imperial to metric 24/7.
I am working with it now and might have a few questions later...
Also, if it is what it seems... will get my tech guys to download this too.
Conversions are always a hassle and anything that relives stress and saves time is a winner in my book.
Thanks to you and your lovely wife!

I have seen a lot of Conversion Apps - I have a few I have used for various jobs - and while all of them have some functionality, they're all limited in some way or the other. This is the best one I have seen, both for it's ease and immediacy of use, and it's "cross-platform" functionality. Bravo, Scott - this IS a tremendous improvement over what else is out there. Well Done, sir!!

Not yet. And probably not for sometime, given that the majority of my time right now is spent on building this place.

When we finally get around to building the Gulch mobile app, we'll have an Android version for sure.
